Rumors and News

In this business, there are always plenty of rumors about which shows are being tapped for Broadway, which actors as being considered for roles and which productions will earn awards. We'll keep you up-to-date on all the important talk behind the scenes.

American Psycho on Stage

The book was condemned as an abomination to woman and shunned at for it's gruesome and descriptive murder passages and then Christian Bale came along. Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho may have not been a best seller in 1991 but interest was kindled when the book hit the silver screen in Mary Harron's screen adaptation starring Christian Bale, Chloe Sevigny, Reese Witherspoon and Willem Defoe.

Three companies have been slated to write the script and score for American Psycho the Musical, rumored to premiere on Broadway in 2010. With such a cult following we're pretty sure that date will get pushed up - websites such as American Psycho tickets have already sprung up! Numerous sources, such as the New York Times, have already reported on the rumors. Like Sweeney Todd, this slasher would surely make a gruesome hit!

Harry Potter on Stage

Literary sensation Harry Potter may be heading for the stage. Several insiders have been commenting over the past few weeks that such a show could happen. The main barrier appears to be the difficulty of condensing the series into a manageable time frame.

However, producers are confident that they can overcome that obstacle and deliver an abbreviated version of the wildly popular story. Several websites have already sprung up in anticipation of the show, including Harry Potter tickets. So far, the show is still theoretical, but would almost certainly be a box office smash if it ever came to fruition.
